My thoughts in September 2009 - nothing has changed – will Gordy Hogg ever think of the People or just his Liberal meal ticket ?

Gordy Hogg speaks “I will be looking at ways impacts of the HST and cuts to government programmes can be reduced “ (Peace Arch News –September 2,2009 ).

 Is that the best that our experienced MLA Gordy Hogg can do for the voters of White Rock/S. Surrey? Is he going to fight this tax grab? No! Does he apology for the lies that Gordon Campbell and his cohorts expect us to accept as reality? No! Will he stand up and indicate that his party has broken funding promises made to Seniors, Education, Arts and Sporting groups? No! Will he rise up in the legislative assembly and tell the Speaker that the residents of White Rock/S. Surrey have had enough of this fraudulent Liberal government? Will he declare that he is not going to support the HST and presented budget? Don’t count on it! Clearly his party is more important to him than his constituents. Good to know where his priorities lie. Therefore, it’s time to explore ways to remove the Liberal MLA’s and restore Democracy in BC once more.

Dear Sir:
With reference to your editorial of last week “Hogg Should Take a Stand”, will Gordy Hogg ever stand up and truly represent the people of Surrey –White Rock? Does he have any ethical standards or is he just another professional politician ensuring that his meal ticket is punched for another year? Hogg bemoans the fact that certain parts of the Dyble report “turned my stomach and made me feel that some of the actions being taken were terribly opportunistic and certainly could have been deemed to be racist and not very respectful of the multicultural nature of our province and our country” Yet as Caucus Chair, he continues to strongly endorse the Premier and whips all the other Liberal lemmings into line. Perhaps Gordy the ultimate team player cannot recognize that his Liberal team has committed way too many flagrant fouls with the HST, BC Rail and now the Ethnic Outreach Scandal and there must be a game misconduct which only he can serve.

Surrey needs a pool facility that serves the aquatic needs of ALL Surrey citizens and makes money. The only pool that can do this is a 50M pool with an attached 25 M dive tank.

WHY? Because ONLY this 50 M pool PLUS 25M attached dive tank will:

• Accommodate divers, syncro-swimmers, water polo
(Not just public swimming & lessons)

• Allow for multi-purpose users at the SAME time $

• Meet FINA (Federation Internationale de Natation)
requirements for all aquatic competitions:
local, provincial, national & international* $$

• Enable Surrey to apply to host “world class” aquatic events
for Masters, Commonwealth Games, Olympics
(only FINA-approved Pools can apply) $$$

• Bring huge aquatic sports tourism dollars to Surrey $$$$

Please listen to your local, provincial and national aquatic experts who all agree that this combined 50 M with attached 25 M dive tank is the ONLY solution and needs to be built NOW at the Grandview location. Phone calls, emails, meetings, presentation to the Parks & Rec. Board and letters have been provided.

Let’s build this “world class” facility now. Let’s get immediate payback both in all aquatic users’ satisfaction and expanded economic benefits from multi-users and increased sports tourism revenue. Let’s get it right, right away!
